thast is very nice, how many sals do you keep in that? is that a concrete pond? take my advise and try to keep grass out as it is very hard to control within an area like that. I am thinking about digging it all out of my vivs!

there is one pair of terrestris in there. it is 2.5 m x1.3m. yes the pool is concrete with very gradually shelving sides. the green stuff in there is not grass , its sphagnum moss. i'm trying to encourage it to grow because its a good moisture retainer. the enclosure is in almost permanent shade. we intend to build several more in the near future

at the moment will, it contains my pair of terrestris, which are hibernating about a foot below the surface. i do intend to build 3 or 4 more in the near future so i'm open to suggestions as which species to liberate in them.

ambystoma are good, if you don't mind not seeing them...

Alpine newts are fantastic, they bred like rabbits too!! some frog and toad species would also be good, bombina, bufo viridis and maybe mid-wife toads?

yeah, we have one pair of alpine newts, but the male is too young to breed. the female is mature and is currently cooled. so we're hoping to find a mature (and cooled) male from somewhere soon.

It gets too long and in my opinion does not make good amphibian habitat, low growing plants and moss are best I think.
