killian, female slowworms usually have a darker brown continuous stripe down their back to the end of the tail, and have a very small head in comparison to the body thickness. males have a uniform upper body colour and often have a few scattered dark or even blue speckles. as in most lizards the males head is bigger and broader in proportion to the body. both sexes attain similar lengths. by this time of year most female slowworms of 12" and over which have been in contact with males will be pregnant, obviously so by july when they will be very fat

Well fingers crossed anyway. some are larger than others this is a particularly large male.
Will if you dont get yours ill sort you out with some babies next year. Done be soft with him though. have you contacted the police? I got mine shortly after contacting them!
Hopefully it will be a good day tomorrow and they will be basking.
do you think the sand lizard will be ok with them? he looked totally disgusted earlier when one of the common lizards ran into him.

Killian:
Do you have any papers on the slow´s? I am interested in buying babies from you, but I have to be able to prove that the ones I buy is F3 generation or later.. A Breedercertificate is enough, from the person you bought from and from you.

Judging from the fuss created by the person selling them I doubt it. I'd assume you would need an Article 10 document or something similar, or just a simple letter saying that they had been bred from captive stock. Though any young from Killian could/would come with a letter along those lines.

No I did not recieve any papers with the animals. Slow worms are not native to Ireland so I dont know if I need any for them.
Im quiet sure they are captive bred as they are very tame and some of the male common lizards will come right up to me and take food from my fingers.
