Hi Found a way to catch a lot of feeding insects without doing anything Some years ago I saw a collector of nocturnal insects in USA and have been looking for them since. Now it is possible to buy them here in Denmark. They can send to UK www.insektfanger.dkI got one in October and have been collecting live insects every morning every day except on nights with freezing temperatures. Last night I caught about one deciliter live insects Only problem is that the size of the insects are so different and I have to cool them and separate in size for the animals. Best wishes Søe

Hi No actually almost all insects are alive even small mosquito's. Last night it caught about 45 moths and a lot of smaller insects. I hang it in my garage. Not the best place, but it is dry there and it still catches. I havent tried the smaller ones. I am not sure they are strong enough for the largest insects. Best wishes Søe

I have ordered one.. Did choose the smaller model though, as I am going to use it for my H. arboreas and don´t need so large insects.

Hi I just talked to the owner of the shop. If you cannot find out how to order (since it is written i danish), you can simply write to this adress: lenehc@mail.dk and write what you are looking for. He is not sure though, what prices to send it will be yet, but he will find out
Best wishes Søe

Hi Ohhh sorry cannot put a face to that name Talked to so many then. Here is everything fine. I actually didn`t want to breed much this year, but after all that irritating backstabbing undercover work against Breeders-Expo Europe, I want to support that initiative. The best functioning Show I have ever attended. So I started to breed and breed and wouh, there will be plenty of offspring. Maybe even some VERY interesting stuff like these: I will start another topic, showing what else is happening here ;D Best wishes Søe

I understand that, Söe.. No sweat. Neither of us was completley sober at the time.. ;D
I am also trying to help / promote BEE the best I can, on my blog and on my website / forum.. Not too keen on going on "that other show" anymore, because of all the stupidiness..
d**nit!! Big a**ed lizards!!

As I said before, I bought one of the insectcatcher.. The smallest model. And it works very good!! Catching more live insects that I can use! Well, almost anyway. It catches quite large moths, about 3 centimetres in bodylength whitout problems. Every night it catches about a decilitre or more insects! My frogs and lizards are wery happy!! Thanks Söe, for the tip!! I wonder if the seller would be interested in having a retailer in Sweden..

This is a very cool looking item - I can not seem to find a similar product for USA.
I suppose I could attach some lights to a small fan and have it pointed into a bucket or something similar? anyone have any thoughts?
Thanks

Ok I have found similar product - but the ones I find dehydrate the insects and kills them within hours - does the ones you all use do this same thing? I would sort of like to have the insects be left alive (more fun for lizards)
