Todays sun has given me my fist sightings, four species were seen basking this morning, one eyed lizard, one bilineata, one painted dragon and two wall lizards all males. I am looking for agilis argus and female eyed if anyone knows of any.

Hi, I have one male brachydactyla and one female brachydactyla x star agama, which showed herself today, plus one juvenile bred from them. I do keep them in a greenhouse all year round, but it has to be said many individuals seem less hardy and have to be taken indoors. those that do not do well through the winter I sell on and try again. The two adults I have now have come through this very mild winter well, the first pair to have done so in around four years, when I started keeping them again, after a few years break from the hobby. Prior to that break I kept a two pair for about five years with no problems what so ever.

Hi Lizzerd, It's good to see someone taking the initiative and posting something. A few of my animals have started to wake up. A male exigua, some young Billineata and a male. I know its still early yet so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the rest. Cold winters seem to suite my animals the best as I keep them well protected throughout winter. The last time we had a mild winter like this one a I lost a few animals. I've brought a few indoors as they didn't go down properly or came out of hibernation far too early due. They are looking healthy and feeding well. I'm in the process of building a new outdoor viv, as I acquired a large 6ft by 4ft cold frame last year. That should be up and running in the next month or so.

Hi Chris, I agree with what you say about mild winters, like you the last one left me with more losses than any harsh winter ever has, which has had me dreading the effects of this one. however all the lizards that I have seen so far look really healthy but the weather seems to have changed again with the onset of real sharp frosts now following warm sunny days, so hoping this has no adverse effects on the active lizards. That's a good size cold frame, hope all goes well with that. As well as my 8ft x6ft greenhouse I also have a couple of cold frames one 4ft x 3ft and one 3ft x 2ft

Hi Oppio90 I have no idea how to get photos on here. As for minimum temps I have never checked them. I have two underground chambers formed by polystyrene boxes and several underground tunnels, so plenty of places to the lizards to find a frost free spot.
