I've just introduced my young Billineatas to an outside cage after they have spent the last month indoors growing larger. I don't know if it was the excitement but the first one released started to swallow a small pebble the size of it's head. I managed to stop it by pulling it out of its mouth. But as I released the others quite a few of them started to do the same thing. They seemed so interested in the small pebbles investigating them for a while before trying to eat them. Very strange ! I'm still trying to work out why they were doing it and I'd just fed them shortly before !

Its called pica and is often a sign that the lizards are calcium deficient

Hi Rob,
I ran out of calcium powder a few weeks ago and haven't bothered to buy anymore so that must be it. I will be rushing out tomorrow to get some more. Thank-you !
