Hello -
Just joined.
I wondered about using an expanded polystyrene box buried in substrate of my new outdoor vivarium as a hibernaculum? Filled with peat and sphagnum moss, access via a plastic pipe, breather holes via small-diameter stainless steel tubes. Sp alytes obstetricans, ba variegata, b viridis.
Grateful for any advice. Thanks!

I would not recommend polystyrene on the bottom. If the winter is very bad like 2010 the contents of your box could be below zero. The subsoil remains warmer and this heat would not be able to pass through the bottom of your polystyrene box.
