Hi has anyone any experience with young lacertids?I am having trouble with some young Lacetra bilineata.They seem to be runnig around in circles.a bit like a dog chasing it's tail/ Regards Colin

The last time i reared bilineata i never experienced anything like that, however they were quite aggressive even with me! The only things i found very usefull were dry rotten logs with cracks, they preferred to hide in these over anything.

Hi Colin I believe it was you who emailed me about this a couple of days ago. If so I hope you received my extensive reply. You didn't mention the "running in circles". This is typically symptomatic of avitaminosis, specifically and most commonly vitamin D3/calcium imbalance. Good luck Chris

Hi Chris yes it was me.I noticed this symtom with one of the youngsters but I was more concerned with the gaping.To fill you in I have some antibiotic from the vet and I am going to put the young in vivaria with freer flowin.air and possibly a heat mat under part of the vivarium.I reckon this combination should work.
