Hi At times there are "illigal immigrants" in the fruit and vegetables comming in from southern Europe This beauty was found in a container with vegetables from Istanbul. I am still puzzled........... Is it a viridis or media? I would say viridis, but I have newer seen anyone so blue down the sides, and this is Autum colors........... He will be a knockout in Spring. Anyway he is living here now, and will be placed with a turkuish blue viridis female, that I don`t have a male to, and then we will see if anything happends Best wishes Søe

Great looking animal!! I am also unsure about the subspecies... But I would have to say viridis too.. Put up a picture when he has his springcolour, please!! Of course, next spring. I think that I have to buy fruit by container now..

Posted on behalf of Rob Pilley:
Its a Lacerta media ciliciensis or Lacerta trilineata ssp. from Turkey. The media/ trilineata complex are completly separate from the viridis group and so wont hybridise with viridis (even if mating occurs this cross is completly sterile). I have blue flanked trilineata if the person who has it is interested in passing it on, I would happily cross it with one of my females next year and give them half the young if they are interested?

Thank you for clearing that up. Hmmm........ I must buy Böhmes lizard bible and start scalecounting, but that would lead to buying all these massive an expensive bricks.........avavavav Rob can have the animal, but i don`t know how to get it to him. Sending animals is out of the question. I newer do that. So for now he will be out there and soon starts hibernating. He is still active on sunny days and even feeds on coackroaches. Best wishes Søe
