Spent most of today sorting out an outdoor enclosure for fire salamanders. It has underground hibernation areas, lots of hiding places, water section, rotting wood-bark- dead leaves etc. I am planning on putting my sals out there at the end of march, and they will live in there year round

Looks very nice! I want to set up something similar soon, I hope it turns out as well as this one.

Yep, Looks good. Could we have some details on the build/measurements etc.? Is it brick? Will they breed in there?

Nice setup. I would like to see some pics of the salamanders, don't know much about salamanders but lots about our newts and frogs. How much water and weed do they need to lay their eggs?

Heres a pic of some of the little beauties. I do have l;ots of daphnia, but they prefer larger food items like live bloodworm, and whiteworm ;D[ ]

Very good close-up. They must be tiny. I've got some CB Triturus Cristaus, they are minute, only got front legs at the moment. How come yours have changed so quickly?

S s terrestris larvae are born very advanced, at a good size and with legs etc, so they dont have much developing to do, I know have 4 little beauties in a damp terrestrial set up with most of the others looking ready to leave the water any day now
