We have had two days of sun so far and I have another female out. Not going far at the moment. No sign of the male as yet. He was late last year. Isn't it great to see that some have come through this exceptional winter? Looking at my last year mails, they are certainly a lot later this year. Also the pond was full of frogs this time last year. At the moment only one pair visible and a few separate.

I'm sure you'll see your male lepidus this week or so Barb, we've got some warm(ish) days coming up with some very mild nights so i'm sure it'll all kick in very soon. Sold up my colony of Eyed's last summer... am regretting it now!.

Yep, he's out now and I must say looks magnificent after a wash. He was covered in mud. Doesn't look like any weight is lost at all.
