It's been so hot here 30+ in the shade, so most of the reps are in the shade. Torts don't stop eating and the dragons lepida rushing to the dish as soon as it's put in. All the food is eaten in space of seconds. Frogs in buckets and bowls around the garden to keep cool, we are having to put water in them to keep the frogs moist. When I water plants, out they jump. Anyone know what is the highest they can jump. There is one up on the veranda. I have no idea how it got there!

Hi Barb It has been hot here also, but the frogs are ok as there are a few ponds in the garden. Not sure how high they can jump.....but at least a foot, as i find them in my turtle tubs. My Green lizard has been underground a lot, but the Podarcis, T. pater, Laudakia & Aussie's seem to love the heat. The turts are in heaven.....its a wonder they don't get baked! Attachments:

It's cooler now and last week we had some rain, so that greened things up a bit. The lizards are now more active but still rushing to the food dish. The male always gets there first and will eat everything before the female, he's a real pig. Then I have to put out some more for her. Still, I guess it's only another month before they go off feeding for the run down to hibernation. Don't want to think about that just yet!
Your little guy blends into the the background very well. Is he just outside for the hot weather?
There has been a frog bathing in the Lepidas' water dish. He pops in there when it gets too hot. Again, I have no idea how these frogs get in when the sides are at least 3ft high perspecs, covered with netting. I have seen field mice shin up the sides, run along the top, then jump across to a tree! Where there's a will there's a way!

I think the frogs get into the vivs when the are tiny, by climbing up the glass/perspex sides. I have found frogs of all sizes in my vivs and the mice can climb up nearby plants or fences and jump! The little Laudakia stellio x brachydactyla have been out from mid May.......but i might bring them and my juv Physignathus lesueuri in for the winter. The Laudakia are great outdoor agama's....they run around like chipmunks. Do you keep anything other than the Lepida......i have a very old male but lost the old female after hibernation this year. keepingreptilesalfresco.blogspot.com/Graham
