They look simply great. You have taken a lot of time over getting everything right. Your turtles will think they are on holiday! Come and do a pond for me when you have time!! ;D

Just a few pics to show a basking area and barrier to stop turts escaping.......which they have done already. They also like basking on the decking around the edge. The barrier is plastic flashing stocked by most diy stores and looks Ok

That's a good idea, you must be well pleased and can spend your leisure time watching them. Is that a glass viv in the background? Can we have a closer look at your design and the lizards?
The weather seems to have changed here, so no reps out. Do terapines still come out the water when there is no sun?

Hi Barb, There are a few pics of the glass viv under the DESIGN section, on this forum, subject 'How deep how tall'. Terrapins/turtles will come out to bask on cloudy days, providing the air temp is higher than water temp. They are real sun worshipers though and will spend all day basking. I have a male viridis, 2 female muralis and 1 Lacerta unisexularis in that glass viv at the moment. I hope to obtain more european species, but they are difficult to get hold of these days(both lizards & terrapins). What species do you keep Barb......would love to see any pics. Graham

After about two weeks the pond did start to get a bit murky due to nutrients in the water, sunlight and turtle poo!! However, it is now crystal clear, thanks to the plants/oxygenator and a natural balance has occurred. Hopefully this will continue, so a pump and filter will not be needed. I have looked at the videos. They all look very happy. You have such a nice arrangement. If you go to my site www.freewebs.com/trimacdogtraining then into Links, there are some of my lizard photos, also there are many on this site.
