a couple of months ago adam(anuran) gave me five triturus karelinii larvae. one of them morphed at about 4cm long and is currently living in an outdoor enclosure, although it has remained in the pond . although it has no external gills it lives totally aquatically. the other 4 have access to dry land in an aquarium in my conservatory, but have shown no inclination either to use the land portion or indeed morph. these 4 are now 7cm long and have a full complement of external gills.
