Not sure of this Lacertid - maybe an Iberian wall. Suggestions please. Various Mauremys pics. Caught in a river near Alora. Scorpion - unknown species. This had fallen in a swimming pool overnight and when I fished it out it seemed long dead. There was no movement at all but after it had dried out in the sun for a couple of hours it miraculously came alive. My daughter holding a lepida Another shot of the lepida - Jeez, that was one quick lizard! Viperine snake

Again, a great set of pictures.
That N. maura looks like he is just 3 seconds from musking all over you.
It´s alot of fun watching a group of 4 people or so, running around and trying to catch a lepida or similar lizard on fairly open ground. ;D

Yes, but the Mauremys were the worst muskers. Also, I couldn't believe how light they were - only a fraction of the weight of my own turtles. Perhaps I'm feeding them too well. Only recently I had to suppress a mutiny from my girlfriend and my daughter as they thought my turtles ate better than they did. The fresh trout was the final straw....
