Hi Folks - lovely sunny day here so thought I would put up some shots from this afternoon. First up is my male P. pityusensis kameriana - Next is the male and female lepidus and finally a 'pet project'! These are Holaspis guentheri - which is a tropical species from Tanzania. They have been outside since the middle of April and are doing surprisingly well! I will definitely move them back indoors for september - but amazing how well they are doing in our climate!

Hi Guys - as far as I know the Holaspis are actually a forest dweller and not a montane species (although Tanzania is pretty rugged and has a number of much cooler areas higher up).
They are outdoors in a tub I usually use for bringing on Podarcis babies - not in the greenhouse. They went out during that very intense hot spell in April, but even when the daytime temps are around 15-16c they are outside basking. I think it helps that the tubs always raise the temperature slightly - and of course you cannot beat natural sunlight!
I won't risk keeping them out much past the start of September though -
The pics don't do them justice - they are gorgeous little critters, picked up from Hamm this year.

Yes but it's all down to the camera and how close up you can get with your lense!
